Inside Susan Lucci’s Home with Ceiling Decor That Was a ‘Gift’ from Her Husband: ‘He Took My Breath Away’

Susan Lucci’s bright smile and doll voice made her performances sensational. The star of the TV series “All My Children” also had an exciting personal life involving her husband, with whom she lived for more than five decades.
Lucci met Austrian-born Helmut Huber before she became a TV star. She worked as a waitress at the Golden City Hotel, where Huber was the hotel’s chef and head of food and beverage delivery.
At first they were friends, although they were attracted to each other. At that time, the waitress was engaged, and her parents invited Huber to an engagement party.
Eventually, everything changed, and their friendship developed into a bond that stood the test of time. The couple tied the knot in 1969 and remained married until Huber’s death. They unconditionally supported and loved each other throughout their marriage, as expected from a real power couple.
Huber worked closely with his wife, becoming her manager. He also retained his passion for cooking as a chef, running Pine Valley Productions.
Besides being a caring husband who cared about his wife’s career, Huber is known for saving her life. In 2019, Lucci suffered from seasonal chest pains, which she often found excuses for and dismissed.
Eventually, after seeing a doctor, she realized that her heart was in danger, and she was scheduled for heart surgery. Fortunately, after a full recovery, Lucci felt lucky to be in good health, especially since she had a shoulder to lean on.
The dancer admitted that she never really cared about her health; instead, she was absorbed in her work. However, Lucci wanted to share her story to inspire the audience to pay attention to the most minor discomfort in the body.
