Jelly Roll confronted his troubled past earlier this month when he visited his former high school decades after he was told that he’d “never be allowed back.”
The famed country star has been open about the many legal and addiction issues he had as a teenager and young man. During his youth, he went to jail around 40 times, mostly due to drugs. His behavior also got him kicked out of Antioch High School, which is just outside of Nashville, Tennessee.
Ultimately, Jelly Roll earned his GED while in prison. And he never walked the halls of the school after his suspension. But he was recently invited back with open arms for a special pep rally in his honor.
Bunnie Xo, Jelly Roll’s wife, recorded the event and posted the highlights on her TikTok account while she cheered on her husband for the man he’s become.

“They told my husband he would never be allowed back into his high school when he was younger,” Bunnie captioned over the video.
“Last week, I got to watch him walk the halls again, perform & be welcomed by the kids & teachers,” she continued. “The love and giving back that they showed my husband was the sweetest thing ever to watch.”
Jelly Roll Former High School Welcomed Him With Open Arms
Footage shows Jelly Roll touring the school and meeting students and faculty members before heading into the gym for the pep rally. While he was there, he also sang a few of his hits and signed autographs.
“But most importantly, the smiles on those kids’ faces was priceless [sic] & what I truly needed in that moment. Thank you Antioch High School students & staff for the warm hug we needed that day. Go Bears!”
Bunnie also shared that her father, Bill, sadly passed away that same day. Bill had been battling stage four cancer.
“Hey Bill, I’m going to miss you,” wrote in an Instagram post. “💔 You are still my favorite rock star & my hero 💫 This one’s going to hurt.”
