Famous Celebritie Who Showed Their Natural Look without Makeup after 50s & Caused a Stir

Overcoming beauty barriers, these five famous celebrities boldly stuck to their natural image, going makeup-free after 50 years and sparking conversations around the world about how to age gracefully in the spotlight.

Growing old as a prominent figure in Hollywood can be difficult. Given the constant close attention of countless fans, it is not surprising that a large number of actors resort to cosmetic surgery to preserve their youthful appearance.

However, not every celebrity shares the opinion that aging is bad. Andie McDowell has never tried to hide the signs of her aging, preferring instead to proudly wear her maturity.

“Holy. The star of “Elmo’s Fire” shared a story about how she was 40 years old. At that time, many journalists focused on her age, and they all wanted to know how she felt about getting older. One journalist asked her how she felt about “losing [her] beauty,” and she recalled: “I said: “I really don’t feel like I’m losing my beauty. I just feel like it’s a different kind of beauty.””

As she grew older, McDowell advocated the adoption of natural beauty. Although she has never blamed anyone for plastic surgery, she said she would never work on herself. She believes that natural aging is a wonderful process. “I don’t care. I want to be old,” the actress once said about her appearance.

The actress admitted that she once tried botox, but she didn’t like it, and she decided never to do it again. She also shared that she once consulted a plastic surgeon and after a short conversation left the office, knowing that she would never return there again.

McDowell tries to take care of his skin by doing facials and taking care of himself instead of plastic surgery. The actress mentioned that she accepted herself and who she has become over the years.

Throughout her career, McDowell has worked as a spokesperson for the cosmetics company L’Oréal. She shared that working for a popular brand was fantastic, as they always supported her and allowed her to welcome aging: “I think one of the reasons I stayed at L’Oréal is that it was important for them to convey the idea that… aging is not a loss of beauty.”

Over the years, McDowell has had to come to terms with the fact that she is getting older, but she has come to realize that aging is not the end of life as people think. The actress has learned to wear her age with pride.

McDowell decided to make a bold statement by refusing to dye her hair with age. She spoke about her decision and said that in many ways it was inspired by her daughters.

McDowell explained that she started turning gray at the beginning of the quarantine. During the quarantine, she often saw her children, as they lived next to her, and when her hair began to turn gray, the children constantly cheered her on. She shared: “Every time my kids saw me, they kept telling me that I looked cool with my gray hair.”

Inspired by the words of her children, which gave her confidence, McDowell decided to keep her natural hair color. At first, her managers advised her not to go the natural way, saying that she should dye her hair. She didn’t agree.

McDowell told them it was the perfect time to show off her graying hair. The actress explained that she has always wanted to have an outstanding look of hair that has not turned completely gray, and if she waits a little longer, she will miss her opportunity.

Soon she received an offer for a new project, and the actress had to make a final choice. McDowell decided not to back down and has not looked back since. She loves her new, all-natural hairstyle and said she feels comfortable being herself: “It was so clear to me that my instincts were right because I’ve never felt more powerful. I feel more honest. I feel like I’m not pretending.”

Of course, there has always been some concern about how others will perceive the changes. McDowell said she even considered having a few wigs ready so as not to upset anyone.

Fortunately, as soon as she came out into the world, she realized that she didn’t need to please anyone but herself. She was enjoying her new hairstyle and the process of growing up. She wasn’t going to hide her age from anyone.

McDowell talked about other things that inspired her to keep her natural hair color. She shared that she noticed how other ordinary women on Instagram change color and realized that she likes self-confidence.

She also said that her hair and face didn’t seem to match anymore. There were visible wrinkles on her face. When she dyed her hair, youth seemed to contradict the wrinkles on her face, adding, “And in many ways, I think it’s more noticeable on my face. I just feel like it suits me.”

As soon as she made the decision to stick to her natural hair color, McDowell felt great. She felt that she could be herself without feeling ashamed. She felt that she was beautiful because she remained herself.

Going out into the world with her natural hair, she knew she could speak up for other women who felt they should hide who they were. She began using her platforms to encourage others, as did other proud women who inspired her.

McDowell has always been honest about her age in an industry where aging can mean the end of a career, especially for women. Despite the risk, she knew she didn’t want to hide who she was.: “I openly talked about my age, although people told me that this should not be done… But guess what? I’m worth it!”

Although McDowell’s fans showered her with words of support, not everyone thought that natural hair color was a good idea. Some fans expressed their opinion, saying that the actress should dye her hair. One Facebook user commented: “If she likes it, so be it. But… to be honest, she looks a lot older.”

However, regardless of the feedback she receives from the public, the only thing the actress lives by is listening to her intuition, and this is the most important advice she would give to other women. The decision to keep her gray hair made her worry about collaborating with L’Oréal, but it all worked out.

She explained, “I think it’s an individual choice. My two older sisters will dye their hair forever. So, I think everyone should make their own individual choices about how they feel about aging, what they want to do with age and what makes them more comfortable.” She is also more than comfortable going outside without makeup and hugging her gray locks.

In June 2022, McDowell also announced that her son and his wife were expecting a baby. The actress is a mother of three children, and now she has her first grandson. She shared a pregnancy post and said she was looking forward to becoming a grandmother: “I can’t wait to meet my granddaughter!”
